I use Song Director for my stereo system.
I have a small laptop computer with a big hard disk hooked up and dedicated to my home stereo system, and using that computer with Song Director is the only way I play music at home. For example, when David Bowie died, I quickly located all songs I had by him, and also searched for cover versions of his songs and played all of them for days. It's so easy and quick to find and play any song I can think of this way. I can be playing any song in seconds just by typing the first few characters of the song name.
Pros: Using it for home stereo system
Cons: Cannot stream music from the internet in real time

Works great on Windows 7.
The scan found all 96,335 songs on my hard drive. Really easy to locate and play any of my songs now. Love it!

Song Director can display the lyrics, album art, info about the song.
I love the way Song Director can display the lyrics of any song being played, album art cover versions of songs and general information about the song and artist. The music player can skip duplicates which is something I have never seen in other programs

This is a much needed function, but V1.0 - it does not work properly.
After the third install onto a thumb drive I was able to use the .exe file, it required CHROME to download. Trying to scan my solid state drive on usb drive D: the software on XP windows found 141 files of several thousand .mp3 and .wav files. Retries fail, even when given the exact directory to scan.
Pros: Allows creation of your own catagories
Trys to scan into central database
Cons: The XP file structure on solid state multi terrabyte drives is missing.

Song Director is the best and easiest way to organize a music collection.
Song Director is the best and easiest way I know to organize, search and play my 4TB of music files. I can find edit and search, sort over 300,000 songs quickly and easily.
